The CATS Outstanding Professional Award (OPA) recognizes excellent staff contributions on individual CSU campuses, such as for work on a specific project or for consistently excellent performance of their duties. Winners are honored for their
- Impact, such as improved productivity for themselves and others on their campus and perhaps at other CSUs
- Effect on Teaching and Learning, such as improved student outcomes or the creation of models, learning objects, or systems that benefit their campus
- Distinctiveness, such as the development of creative solutions to problems
The OPA rubric * is used to evaluate nominees. Please review the rubric so that you can write a solid nomination.

Additionally, at least one support letter from another CATS member or other staff, an administrator, or faculty member is required, and multiple letters are encouraged. These can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to 707.664.4350. A letter from the nominee’s supervisor is strongly encouraged.
