Andrew Roderick — 2006/2007 Outstanding Professional Award Winner
CATS honors Andrew Roderick, Director of Computing for the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at San Francisco State University, where his renowned staff supports the computing needs of staff and faculty in a wide range of academic disciplines. He also teaches in the Department of Instructional Technologies at SFSU.
Andrew leads the software development arm of the operation, supervising and directing a number of projects, including such innovative online tools as Webvising, a web-based advising system for students, and custom content management solutions for various CSU affiliates.
Most recently, Andrew and his team has been focusing on the Digital Information Virtual Archive (affectionately known as DIVA ), an online digital file management system that enables faculty to locate, upload, manage, and disseminate a full range of digital files for their teaching, research, and service tasks. DIVA employs the latest web technologies and is designed with a nod toward interoperability with other academic technology systems. DIVA is slated to be available to campuses across the CSU in Fall 2007.
