Keynote: The State of the ATI in the CSU

Cheryl PruittiCheryl Pruitt is the Director of the Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) for the CSU. Her involvement with the ATI began in 2007 at CSU Long Beach where she assisted students with disabilities in the CSULB HiTech Center, developed web sites and web applications for the College of Engineering, and served as part-time faculty in the Computer Engineering and Computer Science Department. She joined the ATI at the Chancellor's Office in 2009 as a Web Accessibility Consultant and became the ATI Director in 2011. In 2010 the ATI implementation strategy underwent a dramatic change, from a top-down deadline driven approach to a campus centric process improvement approach. In her keynote session, Cheryl will provide an overview of the ATI process improvement implementation and its implications for Web, Procurement, and Instructional Materials. She will also share (1) the active role the ATI Communities of Practice are playing in this new implementation approach, (2) a variety of systemwide collaborative projects that are yielding accessibility resources that all campuses can use, and (3) the ATI qualitative reporting process being used systemwide to advance accessibility in targeted areas.
