Chris Mattia, Director of Academic Technology at CSU Channel Islands, will speak on "The Evolution of Academic Technology in Supporting the Ever-growing Demands of Faculty and Students."
The role of Academic Technology continues to evolve and faculty and student appetites for services grow at a seemingly unquenchable rate. We've crossed the threshold of the LMS and the days of information scarcity are visible in our rear view mirror. We're now navigating a world of Cloud Computing, Mobile Ubiquity, MOOCs, and other obstacles/opportunities. Meanwhile, the need to engage and keep the learner at the center of our focus has never been greater.
We live in a world where technology companies produce beautifully designed products that bring devices and applications to life with a single touch, where online video-based instruction on numerous topics is a mere click away. Learners have come to expect the same level of performance, simplicity of design, and usability in every screen-based interaction they have. This keynote will explore these ideas and propose a framework for meeting evolving needs and expectations.
