CDL unveiled the VOILA authoring tool at the 2005 CATS conference in March. This tool allows non-technical authors to produce video-based lessons that can be accessed through the web. Step-by-step instructions make this easy to use, and an organized author can produce a simple lesson within two hours. Lessons can include text, images, video, audio, charts, and tables.
This tool was adapted from the Light Bridge project. You can visit the
Light Bridge site to see how they used the tool.

| CSU, Chico Named NMC "Center of Excellence" |

CSU, Chico received The "Center of Excellence" award at the annual NMC Conference, which was held in Honolulu, June 15-18. Kathy Fernandes, Director of Academic Technologies, and Claudine Franquet, Information Technology Consultant, accepted the much-deserved award before 400 attendees. The Academic Technologies department has a long history of involvement with CATS, back to day-one, in fact. Congratulations to the entire department!
